Goodbye Mr Torres

No fewer than 26 players who still belong to Chelsea Football Club have been 'generously' loaned to other clubs, whose needs are obviously greater than ours. Isn't it good to do our charitable bit for those clubs that possess less resources?! The following squad of Chelsea loanees would most probably be equipped to form a decent Premiership team, but there simply is no room at the west London inn for the following outcasts.

Of these 'temporary' exports, I would be extremely surprised if Kakuta, Marin, Moses, or Torres ever play for Chelsea again. I reckon that Bamford and Bertrand's chances are slim, while the same applies to McEachran. Regarding the latter, there are simply too many people ahead of him in the pecking order, namely Matic, Mikel, Chalobah, and Van Ginkel. I'm not sure that Piazon will get upgraded to the first team. As for Romeu, many of us have been impressed by him, but one gets the impression that Mourinho feels less favourably disposed.

Elsewhere, Kalas and Van Ginkel may well return to the first team, while Chalobah's chances have been enhanced by now being loaned out to a Premiership team. Similarly, Atsu stands a good chance of being kept at the Bridge if he passes his audition at Everton. Traore is still very young, so time is on his side, a fact that helps most of these young loanees. It will be interesting to see if Thorgan Hazard can sustain his progress, this time in the Bundesliga. Time will tell. It always does!
