Ben Foster is desperate to impress his new team Birmingham City and hopes to re-ignite his international career with England. The 27-year-old left Manchester United with the hope of playing regularly in the first team, having missed out on a place at the World Cup finals due to a lack of opportunities at Old Trafford. He told in an interview: "It was what cost me at the end of the day. I was not on the plane to South Africa and I couldn't argue with the manager's decision. I'd played one game in seven months before the World Cup. I saw Mr Capello at a few matches with United last season and he asked me what was going on and things like that. I think he will be fairly pleased that I will be looking to play some first-team football now. He did play me in a few games, so he did see something in me that he quite likes, so with the chance to play first-team football, hopefully I'll be able to get back in there again."
