The war of words between Karl Oyston and Valeri Belokon continued again last night as BBC radio five live let them both take to the airwaves. For those not upto speed with developments in the boardroom. Belokon sent an open letter to the chairman asking for football to be put first and for the final parachute payment from the Premier League to be placed in an escrow account for footballing matters. Oyston responded by accusing Belokon of wanting a pay out for his stake in the club. It's certainly caused a stir in the media in an already negative spotlight the club finds itself under.

Putting the issue of clubs finances aside in this is impossible, the details of payments made to Oyston owned companies to segesta and zebaxe are well documented and perhaps this is what has led to the breakdown in communication within the clubs boardroom.

Following the clubs promotion to the premier league, it would seem Belokons quest to clear his name of money laundering accusations meant he had less time to spend at the club and thus took a step back from things. Since then the decline on the pitch has been somewhat noticeable; with Blackpool nearly dropping out of footballs second tier last season.

But it now seems Belokon is hoping for some reconciliation, he told five live "if we work together if we listen to each other, like before maybe we can be success?" He added 'can Karl work together?" 

Asked what the problems are at Bloomfield road he said "people don't listen to me unfortunately we don't have results". 

"Karl listen and understand what I tell"

Karl replied by saying "if Valeri could put sometime aside and attend board meetings we would listen to him like we have done in the past" 

Later adding, "Valeri is more then welcome to make contact and have a discussion, I would welcome him back with open arms".

The whole situation is becoming increasingly more humiliating for the fans and at the recent supporters trust meeting it was suggested the clubs proposed changes in articles of association could be working to move Belokon from the board and removes the smaller shareholders. Perhaps now would be the time that BSA or BST try to facilitate a meeting between to the two in the hope a resolution can be sought. It would appear following the five live program that there could be a possible reconciliation it's just whether it can now be facilitated with emotion so high.

There is a clear fracture between the club and the supporters with many fans siding with the supporters trust and Belokon and protests against the Oystons becoming more frequent. The oystons will always insist however that "the grass isn't greener".
