As the new season apparoaches, Blackpools last minute squad assembles today continued. With recently installed Blackpool manager Jose Riga securing the signatures of two morenew additions, with another three rumoured to follow in due course.
First to put pen to paper yesterday morning was highly rated striker Ishmael Miller, the one time Nottingham Forest player could make his debut for the seasiders against his former side at the weekend. Aged 27; the well travelled striker comes to Blackpool with a point to prove. After finding himself released in the summer by Forest, after his loan spell at Yeovil came to an end; when he walked out on The Glovers.
He signs a one year deal and becomes Blackpools highest paid player, so expectation to produce the goods , is understandardbly high.
Miller is joined by twenty year old winger John Lundstrum. Lundstrum a product of the Everton Academy joins on a season long loan and has previously captained England Under 19s. A team overseen at the time by Blackpool head coach Noel Blake. He comes here hoping to get championship experience having helped Leyton Orient to a league one play off final last season.
His name may already be familiar for pool fans having previously scored against us for Yeovil Town.
Those two players look set to be joined by upto three to four more players today (Thursday) as pool continue to make preparations albeit lay ones for the season ahead.
