Locked out!

Blackpool are hoping to be given permission to keep the infamous "Gene Kelly" Stand and hopefully extend it. The stand dubbed an embarrassment by Tangerine-Planet readers in a recent edition of our seaside polls. Will remain for another three years should we get permission.

The stand opened in the summer of 2003 however the permission stated it must be removed by September 2008. If the Seasiders get the new three year license for the structure then it will remain until 2011. Something which won't please the away supporters who travel to the ground.

In a report to the development control committee it said "The design of the stand is not in keeping with the rest of the stadium and is not appropriate as a permanent structure. However, given its temporary nature, it is considered acceptable."

Personally I think we should be made to put a roof on, if we're given permission, which i hope we are. We don't need more Seasiders locked out because away fans are situated in the home end.
