Following Saturday's draw against Crystal Palace, Blackpool FC finally hit the magical fifty points mark. However following the match both Simon Grayson and Micheal Flynn have told the press that we're not safe yet and the Seasiders still need to put in some effort to see them over the final hurdle.

Manager Simon Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette. "It does look good to get 50 points and it's a big, big thing for us. But we still need more points because teams are winning below us and mathematically we aren't safe yet."

Grayson also insists the Seasiders have to concentrate on there own game as other teams are picking up points and we need to keep our fate in our own hands. "Leicester won and Sheffield Wednesday got a point at the weekend. We have to keep concentrating on what we need to do and that is to get as many points as possible and we will be trying to do that when we play West Brom next Tuesday."

Grayson added "We got to 40 points fairly sharpish but we've got to 50 points a bit like a batsman in his 90s at cricket. It's been a bit nervous at times. Now we're there though I'm hopeful we can go on a run from here on in and get to 53 or 56 points as quickly as possible. I think we can do that. The performances we've put in, not just in the last two games but over the course of the whole season, give us the confidence to believe that we will go on and get a few more wins.

However Simon Grayson feels that safety is likely as long as the players show some belief. He said "We've got a lot of belief, there is no doubting that. You don't come to places like Palace and Stoke and get a result without putting a performance in. No one thought we would get results in our last two games but the players believed in themselves and once again showed how good they are."

Micheal Flynn spoke to the Blackpool Gazette about the Seasiders safety hopes. He said "I don't think 50 points is enough. Maybe 52 would be enough so we need two draws or a win from somewhere, which with five games to go we can do if we keep on playing like we did on Saturday against Crystal Palace".

It's still a bit tight at the moment, but I think we've shown we're a team of battlers and should be able to get the required points to stay up.
