Welsh says Carson has immense potential

Liverpool youngster John Welsh believes that his team have got themselves one of the best young goalkeeper's around in Scott Carson.

Liverpool's reserve captain knows all about the potential of Scott Carson and his ability having played with him at England under-21 level.
 
Welsh himself signed a contract on the same day that Liverpool finalised the deal bringing Scott Carson to Anfield.

Welsh said "He's a good lad. Quiet, but a great young keeper. He's been tipped for the top for some time now and hopefully he can fulfil his immense potential here with Liverpool,"  
 
"I know Scott pretty well from our time in the England set-up. In recent under-21 get-togethers he really has been on fire and I think it is an excellent signing by Rafael Benitez."
