Wolves striker Dean Sturrigde is hoping to win a fitness battle before Sundays game at Bradford.
Dean Sturridge is hoping to get fit before the curtain raiser at Bradford sunday.
Sturrigde was carried of on a stretcher with a bad gash in his right leg, which needed stitches after a challenge with Newcastle's Titus Bramble.
The normal rest period for such an injury is normally 10 days, but Dean says he's hopeful of making the squad for sunday.
Deano told the officail website "It's unlikely i'll be able to train much before the game , so it would be up to the gaffer to decide wether i could just go into the match , but i'm hopeful of playing a part because although it was very painful when i did it , i've been very surprised how little it hurts now."
Deano also added "If i'm forced to sit out , i'm lucky that the next match at home to walsall comes round very quickly".
If Deano doesnt make the first 11 sunday, i expect Kenny Miller to get the nod over Adam Proudlock with possibly both Adam and Deano on the bench at Valley Parade.
