Part seven takes us in to the 1893/94 season which saw our efforts to retain the F.A.Cup end at the first hurdle thanks to a 4-2 loss at Villa. In the league we suffered big losses away to Forest 7-1 and Sunderland 6-0, however it was at the hands of our bitter rivals WBA that we suffered the seasons biggest loss when they came to Molineux and left with an 8-0 scoreline. We did however enjoy the leagues joint longest unbeaten run of seven games with six of those being wins (It was that derby disater that ended the run). Things was looking good despite some heavy losses as we sat second in the table with eight games to go, however one win and a draw during those eight games saw us finish ninth.

* Most sources state this game finished 4-2 while I have found other sources that state it was 5-2 with Wood getting the other goal. Also seen that one scource stating that Edge and Griffin scored along with Wood and Butcher netting just the two in a 5-2 scoreline. I believe however that they got mixed up with the fixture below where the same four players scored.
