THE Final whistle of Wolves' 2005/2006 season ended with a 2-1 away win over Norwich City at Carrow Road. Goals from Dennes Rosa and Mark Kennedy were enough for Wolves to finish the league in 7th place.

"A big disappointment" says boss Glenn Hoddle. "A complete disaster" says Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey. Call it what you like but the one thing that can't be hidden is the fact that Wolverhampton Wanderers - once again - have massively underachieved.

As the fans walked back to the coaches, cars and trains following the final whistle at Carrow Road the board of directors at Molineux were preparing for the busiest closed season since that of the Premiership season three years ago.

Following their 2-1 win the Wolves players wandered over to the visiting supporters. Some would have been thanking the fans for the support and wishing them the best over the summer whilst others would have been waving goodbye.

It's going to be a season of mass clearout at Molineux with many players being out of contract. The two goal scorers today; Dennes Rosa and Mark Kennedy are both out of contract in the summer. Michael Oakes, Stefan Postma, Colin Cameron, the retired George Ndah and Maurice Ross are all also out of contract.

Kenny Miller has signed off for a new career in Scotland whilst wild speculation linking Joleon Lescott with a move away is rife. Jeremie Aliadiere is heading back to Arsenal. However the players aren't the only one's who's future at Wolves are in doubt.

Terry Connor and Stuart Gray are also both out of contract whilst the boss Glenn Hoddle will sit with the Wolves board on the 2nd of May to discuss his future. If the Chief Executive is prepared to call the work of his employee a "complete disaster" then there would be no surprise if the win at Norwich was to be the last in charge for Hoddle.

It's safe to say the Wolves board will be busy in the summer but decisions have to be made and the decisions made by Moxey and Co will determine the future of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The first half at Carrow Road was a tepid affair with neither side really taking control of the game. Dennes Rosa however broke the deadlock in first half injury time. A late run from the Hungarian International saw him latch on to a through ball before knocking the ball past Gallacher in the City goal.

Matt Murray was playing in goal for the Wolves for the first tome this season and he looked very assured. His kicking was spot on, shot stopping superb and he controlled the area as he did during the Play Of run three years ago.

The second half was a much better game. Colin Cameron saw one effort well saved by Gallacher and Murray did well to deny Earnshaw from a 30 yard free kick. Jeremie Aliadiere had a shot cleared off the line by Flemming before Wolves went two clear.

It was Rosa who scored the first and he was involved in the second. The Hungarian stole the ball from former Wolf Carl Robinson and cut the ball back to Aliadiere who left the ball to Kennedy who hammered home left footed high into the net.

A mix up between Edwards and Murray allowed Earnshaw to pinch a goal back for the home side and Colin Cameron was later sent off for two bookable offences. Murray again saved well from Earnshaw but Wolves were able to hold on for the points.

It's been a long poor old season. The high's haven't been high and the low's have been pretty low. A culture change will be in place next season and we all wait to see who will be around next season.

However whoever comes and whoever goes we'll still be there.
