Watford vs Wolves : Match Preview

Today Wolves travel to Watford in a re run of their recent Carling Cup tie, although Adrian Boothroyd is eager to play down any significance of the Hornets extra time win back in September. Boothroyd says " I dont think the Carling Cup result comes into it at all. I think that this is a really, really important game."

A sentiment most Wolves fans will agree on. Glenn Hoddle certainly does

"We have got 2 back to back away games now and I have been reminding the players that the last time that happened we came away with 2 good performances and 2 good results. We have to set ouselves the same challenge now. Maximum points"

With 2 points seperating the two teams, and 3 points between 8th place Wolves and 15th place Ipswich a win today is a must.

Wolves ever growing list of injuries sees Carl Cort, Rohan Ricketts and George N'dah joining Paul Ince, Jackie McNamara, Mark Clyde and Matt Murray in the treatment room. Leon Clarke and new loan signings Tom Huddlestone and Maurice Ross are all in contention for a starting place.

Watford rested Clarke Carlisle, Matthew Spring, Marlon King, goalkeeper Ben Foster and top scorer Ashley Young midweek and all should return to The Hornets starting line up today.
