The Wolverhampton based newspaper Express and Star tonight reports that Wolves are set to complete the signing of Birmingham City midfielder Darren Anderton.

The report states that Wolves are to offer the former England midfielder a contract until the end of the season and the player will complete the move over the weekend.

There will be no fee involved, meaning Anderton is not one of the "seven figure" bids which are currently sitting on the table of unknown premiership clubs awaiting answers.

Anderton made 20 appearances for Birmingham last season and scored one goal. He will become Hoddles fifth summer signing after already completing the deals of Rohan Ricketts, Gabor Gyepes, Stefan Postma and Jackie McNamara.

MEANWHILE Wolves today completed the sixth month loan deal for Aston Villa goalkeeper Stefan Postma. The 29 year old will make his debut in Wolves home Carling Cup game against Chester on Tuesday.
