WOLVES are hoping to secure the signing of either Derby County star Inigo Idiakez or West Brom Midfielder Jason Koumas before the start of the 2005/06 Championship Season.

It is now common knowledge that Wolves are highly interested in securing the signing of Spanish Midfielder Inigo Idiakez from Derby County, but another name has now emerged from the transfer merry go round.

Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey yesterday confirmed to the media that they had seen two written bids for the Derby County free-kick specialist rejected and was today poised to start an assault on a third bid.

However we understand that Wolves are not over-keen on spending huge cash on Idiakez who is already in his 30's, despite Hoddle having several millions at his disposal. Derby County have also shown a strong determination to keep their prize asset and should no move materialise then Glenn Hoddle could turn his eyes to the opposite end of the Black Country.

Albion boss Bryan Robson recently described Koumas as a player with "as much ability as any player I have ever seen", but the Welsh International is currently looking for a move out of Albion after falling out with the former Middlesbrough Manager.

If Wolves fail with a third bid for Idiakez then Koumas could be the man Hoddle turns too.
