WOLVES are set to start negotiations with Derby County over the proposed signing of duo Grzegorz Rasiak and Inigo Idiakez after news broke today of Hoddles interest in the pair.

A written formal offer, believed to be in the region of £2M, was tabled several weeks ago by Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey, but Derby insisted on sorting their string of managerial problems out before discussing the bid with Wolves officials.

However now that Wolves' interest in the pair has been leaked, negotiations will commence.

Derby County have not rejected the bid, amid claims to the contrary and amid claims by Derby County Director of Football Murdo Mackay that they had not even received an offer from Wolves.

Mackay told Sky Sports "We haven't received any Wolves offers for Inigo or Grzegorz and they are players we would want to keep,"

However Hoddle is keen to add the squad which has already been installed as clear favourites for the championship by Coral and Betdaq.

Idiakez, a 32 year old set-piece specialist is believed to be the main priority whilst Striker Rasiak, who hit 16 goals from 35 games is wanted as cover for the strikers.

Wolves already have huge striking options with Vio Ganea and George Ndah set to return after season-long injuries, youngster Leon Clarke who it 7 goals from 11 in his debut season and Kenny Miller (who scored 20 goals last term) and Carl Cort (16 goals).

Wolves have also been linked with a swoop for Charlton Striker Francis Jeffers.
