Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle granted McNamara an extra weeks Holiday after the former Celtic Captain moved down from Scotland and had a newborn baby.

Wolves boss Glenn Hoddle granted McNamara an extra weeks Holiday after the former Celtic Captain moved down from Scotland and had a newborn baby.

However McNamara is chomping at the bit for the new campaign and will join up with the squad on Saturday - earlier than first planned - in order to get to know his new team mates.

Scottish International Colin Cameron was delighted that the popular defender had signed at Molineux. "I was surprised when he signed although I had an inkling that something was happening as I know Jackie's agent." He told WOW.

"When I'd heard that he'd signed my immediate reaction was that he would improve us as a team whatever position he plays. He is versatile and can play anywhere across the back four or in midfield.

  "When I spoke to him I told him that the physical aspect of the game was the same as in the Scottish Premier League. The only difference was that he would come up against better teams more often this side of the border."

McNamara will link up with the Wolves squad at Lilleshall on Saturday for training and will fly with the squad (including late arrivals Seyi Olofinjana, Seol and Henri Camara -If he turns up!) to Jerez in the South of Spain for a weeks training camp.
