WOLVES stretched their unbeaten run to 14 games - a run last achieved 40 years ago - and made it just one defeat in 21 games as Glenn Hoddle's men tore at the visitors from the start.

If you haven't seen the game then just think back to the Wolves of old. Remember the bursting runs from Colin Cameron, the instinct of Kenny Miller and the battling from Incey?

Imagine Seol on top form, include a superb Seyi George Olofinjana and a man of the match contending performance from Lee Naylor and that would pretty much sum up Wolves' win over Ipswich at a strangely quiet Molineux on Monday night.

Incredibly it was only 2-0 at half time, the one criticism being the form of Ipswich Keeper Davis. Towns goalkeeper probably deserved the man of the match award for, as Glenn Hoddle put it after the game, "making 3 or 4 world class saves".

However Davis was powerless to stop Wolves racing into a two goal lead. First Colin Cameron latched onto a loose ball in the box after some fine work by Naylor on the left.

The Scotland midfielder took the ball on his chest before rounding Davis to hammer home from close range. Wolves weren't done yet though.

Davis then made terrific stops from Olofinjana, Seol and Miller before Wolves fired past Davis for a second time.

Again it was a superb run from Naylor who threaded the ball to the lively Cameron - making his first start in two months - and he fired across goal for Carl Cort to tap into the empty net.

It should have been 3 or 4, but the heroics by Davis in the Ipswich goal gave the visitors a lifeline, albeit a slim one.

Unfortunately for Ipswich and fortunately for Wigan, Sunderland and Wolves it was the home side who should have been the side to score in the second half.

A tame free-kick was the best Ipswich could offer in the second half, but a fabulous save to deny Seol at the death ensured the scoreline looked kinder to Ipswich than they perhaps deserved.

Normal service resumed at Molineux then - it's just a few (8) months too late.
