WOLVES Boss Glenn Hoddle would sacrifice a player in return of a new pitch as the fungal diseased Molineux pitch shows no sign of improving. New Page 1

The Molineux pitch - usually famed for being in pristine condition - has picked up a fungal infection called "leaf spot" which is ruining Glenn Hoddles' sides passing football.

The former England boss is furious with the pitch and has told the clubs officials that it needs to be re-layed, something not done at Molineux for over 16 years!

Hoddle has money available for players and is still on the hunt to add to his squad, but Wolves have been handed more money from Southampton for Camara, enough money to pay for a nwe pitch.

Hoddle believes that that the pitch could cost Wolves the chance of reaching the play-off's and it's believed he would sacrifice the money spent on a new player on a new pitch.

"Something has to be done" Hoddle told The Suns Supergoals. "The pitch needs ripping up and I've told the people here that. I understand it hasn't had a re-lay for 16 years".

The leaf spot effects the grass and is caused by the harsh changes in weather conditions. "There is about 5 inches on top that needs to be taken away. We're trying to play passing football and it's hindering us, so something has to be done about it" Hoddle added.
