Wolves Fans wouldn't have been able to hold back a wry smile on Monday as Southampton, Wolves and Celtic completed the most complex loan deal in history hours before the transfer deadline.

In short it means Camara will be at Southampton for the remainder of the season. Wolves have received £1.5M from Celtic for the first loan (A British record loan fee) and will now receive an undisclosed "Six figure fee" from Southampton who have now taken over the deal.

It means that Wolves could make over £2M this season alone for the SPL failure and would still hold Camara's contract for the following two years, providing nobody makes a bid for him (what are the chances of that!?).

Henri Camara is already a hated man by the Wolves faithful, is disliked by the majority of Celtic fans for wanting to play for a "bigger club" and will already be disliked by current Saints player Jason Dodd for a tackle Camara made on him late last season, so the Senegal Strikers time in England hasn't exactly gone to plan.

Camara came to England to follow his dream of becoming African Player Of The Year and becoming the next Thierry Henry. Wolves boss Dave Jones gave him that chance and signed him for £1.2M from Sedan in July 2003.

After an abysmal season in front of goal at Molineux Camara suddenly started to hit some form towards the end of the season, persuading Wolves Fans to turn up in Senegal flags at the end of the Premiership Campaign in support of a new hero.

Camara said he'd stay with Wolves in the Championship, but less than two days later Camara had gone on record to say he'd "never" play for Wolves again. Not only that, but Camara insisted that if he wasn't sold he would not report for training or return from his summer break in Senegal.

Wolves refused his wish and, true to his word, Camara stayed in Senegal. That was however until Wolves fined Camara two-weeks wages, although after returning to training and sitting on the training field 'on strike', refusing to train, Wolves were forced to accept a loan deal from Celtic.

The deal was worth £1.5M and was a British record loan fee. However after a poor few months in Scotland, Camara - nicknamed "the rat" by Wolves fans - told press that he wanted to play for a bigger club than Celtic.

In December 2004, when asked if he wanted to stay at Celtic, Camara said "If I can find a club better than Celtic, then we will see." It didn't go down too well with the Celtic supporters.

In the same interview Camara had yet another pop at Wolves - the club who gave him his chance in England. "..going back to Wolves is simply not a question for me. Don't even speak to me about them. I am not going to bury myself in the English Second Division." he said.

So it is no surprise that the Wolves fans had a little smile at Camara's expense when he joined Southampton on Monday. We'll give it two weeks before he upsets the Saints fans and wants yet another bigger club. It's just a shame he's useless.
