Jones “Injuries are not to blame”.

WOLVES : Dave Jones is today refusing to blame injury problems for their disappointing start to the new Championship campaign.

 The Wolves boss has been missing a large amount of players due to injury since the season started but he maintains his selection problems have given other men the chance to prove they are worthy of first-team football.

 Dave Jones was quoted as saying  "It is all about competition for places and an injury suffered by one player gives another the chance of getting into the team, We have had problems but I cannot fault the commitment put in by the men who have been in the team."

 Vio Ganea, Mark Kennedy, Carl Cort and Joachim Bjorklund are still out of action while long-term injury-victims Matt Murray and George Ndah have just got back on the road to full recovery.

 Joleon Lescott has bounced back into the team after his troubles while Dean Sturridge is fit again but unlucky Jones has now lost defender Rob Edwards - one of the three new faces he has added to his squad due to injury.

 "It is a bitter blow for Rob because he was starting to make his mark," added Jones. "All we can do now is get his operation out of the way and get him back as soon as we can."

 Jones is still looking for his teams first Championship win of the season with just four points in the bag from their six outings - but he has assured disheartened fans there is a light on the horizon.

 "When I have a fully-fit squad we will be stronger and better," said Jones. "And it will not be long before we are up with the rest of the top teams looking to get into the Premiership."

Lets hope he is right ! !
