HE really has won it all.
From a European Cup to a Play-Off Final. However Denis Irwin, the former
Manchester United, Leeds United, Oldham and now Wolves star will hang his boots
after the final whistle against Spurs on Saturday.
Denis Irwin will hang up his
boots once the final whistle blows on this Premiership Season at Molineux on
Saturday.
Sadly, this season has ended
in relegation for Irwin, but he will receive a standing ovation from Wolves and
Spurs fans who will all appreciate what this great pro has done for the game.
Irwin has made 81 appearances
for Wolves. Three of which included the Play-Off semi's and final at the
Millennium Stadium at Cardiff. The 81 appearances in Old Gold is only a slight
chunk of his overall total however.
The Irish left/right back has
made a staggering 760 appearances in total for Wolves, Manchester United, Oldham
and Leeds United in his glittering career.
Irwin is still the most
decorated player in the country having held aloft the FA Cup, the League Cup,
The Premiership, the European Cup and last may, Irwin held aloft the first
division play-off trophy.
It will be a day to remember
on Saturday for Irwin and the Wolves Fans and the football world in general will
always hold Irwin in highest regard.
Thanks Denis!
