WOLVES MANAGER Dave Jones has told the
fans to get off the players backs after sections of the crowd showed their anger
during the 4-1 home defeat to Southampton.
Wolves Fans, without question, have been
superb this season. The loyalty shown has been one which any club worldwide
would be proud to show off. Over 17,000 Season Tickets for next season have
already been sold - without any of the fans knowing which division Wolves would
be plying their trade next season.
However, sections of the Wolves crowd
turned on Wolves 'Keeper and former Saints Shot-Stopper Paul Jones on Saturday.
Fans - many who believe Oakes should not have been dropped for Jones in the
first place - were unhappy with the Welsh international's kicking and ironic
cheers could be heard when Jones did kick the ball straight.
But Manager Dave Jones says getting on the
players backs achieves nothing. "The fans have been tremendous all season and have really stuck with us," said
the Wolves Boss
"But certain sections of the crowd had a go at one or two players on Saturday and that doesn't achieve anything.
It's no good having a go at individuals - we are all in this together. Everyone in the dressing room is behind each other and whatever happens we have to be big enough to come back again."
"When things are not going well certain players will get picked on, that always happens, but I don't think there is any player at this football club who isn't giving their all."
