Wolves Midfielder Alex Rae could still earn a Call Up to the International Stage according to Scotland Assistant Manager Tommy Burns.

 Alex Rae has been in superb form this season. Man Of The Match on several occasions and with bags of praise from opposing Managers, Alex Rae could still earn a call-up to the Scotland Squad.

 How Rae has not been called up for an International game for Scotland is a mystery, especially as Midfield Partner Colin Cameron has a whole host of Caps for the same Nation to his name.

 However, despite pleas by Dave Jones and the fans of Scotland, Rae has never been given an International Cap, with only Under 21 Caps to be placed on the 33 year old`s CV. But that could soon be set to change.

 "If Berti Vogts feels he needs a player of Alex's type then a call-up could be a possibility." Said Scotland Assistant Tommy Burns.

"I certainly don't think the door has been closed on him because he's been absolutely sensational this season."

 Rae was given the Man Of The Match award after the superb win over Manchester United this season and was recently praised as "One of the best midfielders in the country on current form" in an interview for Sky Sports by Wolves Legend Derrick Dougan.

 "He's always been a first-class player and he's come through difficult times and to his credit he's actually starring in the Premiership at 33." Burns said of Rae, who tops the Wolves scoring list with eight goals.
