Wednesday Night see`s the opening day fixtures reversed. It was the day Wolves returned to the top flight of English Football and it was a day which will be quickly forgotten.

Apologies if you wiped the first and second games of the Premier League season from your minds; but it`s time to bring them back out again.

 Wolves traveled to Ewood Park full of excitement and promise ahead of the opening day clash with Blackburn Rovers.

 New signings Jody Craddock, Steffen Iversen and Silas all made debuts, oh and Luzhny had a brief spell playing right-wing.

 It was a baptism of fire for Wolves. Blackburn Rovers 5 Wolves 1the final scoreline read, just a one off?, I dont think.

 Wolves then conceded 4 at Home to Charlton before putting in a spirited performance away at Manchester United.

 Thankfully, things have improved, giving Wolves one of the best home records in the league.

 Infact, should the season be based on just home games, then Wolves are tenth and have on eye on the Champions League places.

 Wolves take an average 1.5 points per game at Molineux, better than Wednesdays opponents Blackburn and Man City (1.11pts), Leicester (1.1pts), Leeds (1.0pts), Middlesbrough (0.9pts) and Liverpool who have a poor 1.44pts per game.

 However, as we know and as nice stats and figures are, the only figure we are interested in is the last one in the column of Englands Elite League.

 Wolves are bottom, but after a superb win over Leeds United at, surprise surprise, Molineux, last time out, Wolves are just 4pts from the line of safety.

 A win and possibly, a slight piece of revenge for that opening day, could see Wolves move to within a point of safety.

 Paul Butler, Paul Ince and Luzhny are all expected to return for Wolves. Likewise is Henri Camara - Remember him Blackburn Fans? Camara was the one you laughed at when he came on against you with the bright red boots? Well, the red boots are still there, but despite just one goal all season, his pace, skill and effort will scare the life out of the Blackburn back-line.

 One thing for sure however, is that the game will not be drawn 2-2 - Mark Lawrenson has predicted that!

 

 

THE HOT TOPIC: Should Ferdinand be allowed to play against Wolves?

We ask you "Do You Think Rio Ferdinand Should Be Allowed To Play Against Wolves?"

Rio Ferdinand was due to start an 8-month ban from Football on the 12 January after failing to give a sample at a random drug test at the Manchester United training base last year.

He was found guilty, banned for 8 months and as the ban was due to start on the 12th January it means that Ferdinand would have been unable to play for the Red`s on January 17th when they play Wolves at Molineux.

However, as `clarification over the reasons behind his suspension will not be received until the middle of this week` it means that his ban will be delayed, meaning Rio Ferdinand will be allowed to play at Molineux on January the 17th.
