The Wolves / Dino Baggio deal has taken yet another twist. Wolves apparently "lost interest" in Baggio two weeks ago, but the former Italian International is now set to sign for Blackburn Rovers. Blackburn were hardly kind to Wolves on Saturday, banging Five goals past us on our Premiership Debut, and if that wasn`t enough for our faithful Barmy Army then Rovers are now set to sign Baggio, a Wolves target. The former Italian International was set to sign for Wolves a month ago when talks between the club and Baggio "went well". Wolves sent the former Lazio Star back to Italy to make a decision on his future, however Wolves told his agent they had lost interest as Baggio appeared to be unable to make his mind up on his future. It was today announced that Wolves wanted to take Baggio on a trial to prove his worth and the club would then decide whether to sign him. Chief
Exec Jez Moxey told the E&S "Our
position with the player has always been clear. Because he has not
played much over the last two seasons, the manager wanted to see how his
fitness was and such like.
"The idea always was that he would come to work out with
us for a period and if he wasn't prepared to do that, there would be no
further agreement. We have never hung our hat on Baggio and our position
remains unchanged." However, reports now suggest Baggio is set to sign
for Blackburn after impressing chiefs whilst on a short trial. |
