 Sir Jack Hayward has expressed a hint of Sadness about Wolves opening Premiership Game at Blackburn Rovers, he`s sad that Jack Walker won`t be there.

 Sir Jack, 80, has described the sadness surrounding Wolves first ever Premiership Game and the "golden tit" is saddened that Jack Walker will not be sitting close to him in the directors box at Ewood.

 Sir Jack told the E&S "Jack Walker had his hour of triumph and I hope I will have the same, (His death) was a great loss to football and a great loss to Blackburn because he was someone who put his money where his mouth was.

"It is sad that he won't be there, but at least he had his moment and got to lift the trophy. He was a Blackburn boy and he put his money where it belonged, in Blackburn.

"I didn't know him very well but when we met when we were in the same division I used to say to him and Lionel Pickering, of Derby, that the three of us should get to know each other because one day the men in white coats would come and carry us off and we would be sharing the same padded cell playing bridge!"

 In the past Sir Jack has always stuck to one rule, to "Buy British" but with Dave Jones bringing in Henri Camara, Silas and Isaac Okoroknwo Sir Jack his having to dig his atlas out.

 Sir Jack told the E&S "The only one I'd heard of was Jody Craddock, and I've had to go back to my geography book to find out where a lot of the players are!

"My languages are coming on, with Henri Camara from Senegal, Cameroon, Ukraine and Latvia to handle.

"We've always said 'go ahead' to Dave. He's been a tremendous success in buying players.

"There has only been one (Cedric Roussel) that hasn't worked. I'm not sure that was football issues and he's now left the club.

"When you look at the likes of Denis Irwin, Paul Ince, Alex Rae, Kenny, Colin Cameron and the like they have all been superb signings.

"I think signing Denis Irwin and Paul Ince again is brilliant, and I was very impressed with Jody Craddock and Silas against Boavista."
