Author: Scott Cooper Dave Jones was shocked to discover that his midfield target would cost him a staggering £23 Million after he recently enquired about the un-named player. Jones has made his intentions in signing a central midfielder very clear after failing with a bid for Modeste M`Bami and having to end negotiations with Dino Baggio as the former Italian International was unable to give Wolves a decision on his future. Jones has also been linked with Swedish star Kim Kallstrom but told the Express and Star he had been quoted a staggering £23 Million. "I'm still looking for a midfielder and we're now checking on people we've watched," said Jones today. "I checked on one player who is playing abroad and was quoted 35 million euros. When I asked about him the club said "you must be on drugs! "I made an enquiry for him and the club told me he was their best player but I always say "if you don't ask, you don't get". Meanwhile trialists Maris Verpakovskis, Kris Boyd and Olivier Echouafni have all been sent home, however Jones added that he will be keeping an eye on all three players. Boyd Told the Scottish Herald "I had a chat with the Wolves manager before I left and he said he would come up and see me in a game before making his mind up," "I felt I did well in the bounce games but now I have to concentrate on doing well for Kilmarnock. It does give you a wee boost, though, when teams like Wolves are showing an interest in you".
