Kenny Miller was rested for Wolves` Play-Off rehearsal Vs Sheffield United on Saturday because he will be representing his Country again in the week, as Scotland take on Austria.

Miller has been reflecting on his previous performance for Scotland to the Nationwide website where he scored an important goal as they beat Iceland in a Euro Qualifier.

I’m confident I’ll score in every game I play," said the striker, "and it was no different against Iceland. It was a bigger stage, but I go out looking to score every time I play.

"That goal felt great, though. As a boy you dream of scoring for your country and to do so in front of my family was great. I’ve not had much time to think about it since then, mind you We had the Lithuania game the following midweek, then when I got back to Wolves we had three games in six days."

Although the game against Austria is just a friendly, Miller knows just how important it is.

Friendlies are important, especially at this early stage of Mr Vogts’ era as Scotland manager," said Miller. "I would imagine he’s still experimenting with systems and players, so it’s important that friendlies are approached properly. It’s a chance to put yourself forward in the squad and for the rest of the Euro 2004 qualifiers.

"I don’t have a lot of knowledge of the Austrian team, but it’s a game I’m really looking forward to. They’ll probably be a decent team technically and I’m sure it will be a hard-fought game."
