Wolves are believed to be planning a £3 Million summer swoop for Newcastle forward Carl Cort.

Dave Jones made an approach to Sir Bobby Robson last week in an attempt to lure the striker to Molineux on loan for the rest of the season, but the attempt was blocked with Sir Bobby claiming Cort still has a big future ahead of him in Newcastle.

 Jones is believed to have not given up and Cort and is expecting to test Sir Bobby when the Transfer Window opens in the summer. It is also believed that Jones has made his intentions to sign Cort very clear to chairman Sir Jack Hayward, and the size of the bid (currently estimated to be around £3 Million) could and probably will change depending on whether Wolves make the Premiership this season.

 Cort was signed by Sir Bobby Robson for £7 Million from Wimbledon in the summer of 2000 but Cort has been hampered with Injuries, making a mere 24 starts in over two years at St James Park.

 Cort has expressed his frustration at being left on the sidelines, and was believed to be intrested in joining Wolves on loan for the rest of the season and although he has never asked for a move, he may feel that, should Sir Bobby agree to sell, a move to the Midlands would be great to re-start his career.
