A lot of Media Attention surrounded Jones before his side lost to Southampton in the Quarter finals of the FA Cup but the Wolves Manager still showed he has a sense of humour when asked about Mardens goal. New Page 1

Wolves Manager Dave Jones has proved that he still has a sense of humour despite his Wolves side being knocked out of the FA Cup at the St Marys Stadium in Southampton.

Dave Jones was dismissed as Saints manager in 2000 after Jones had been subject of totally unfounded accusations of child abuse and the Southampton team which faced Wolves Live on SKY yesterday (09-03-03) was a team mainly assembled by Jones, with the likes of Bridge, Beattie and goal scorer Chris Marsden all being given their chance by the Wolves manager.

Marsdens goal was nothing special. Infact Marsdens overhead kick was to put the ball back in the danger and instead, it trickled under England U21 International Matt Murray.

But Jones still brought a smile to the press room when he jokingly said "Chris is flat out in the dressing room, I just knocked him out. Now I might burn down his house. It was a soft goal, I don`t think he has ever scored a good goal in his life.

"But seriously, I`m just pleased with how Chris and the others I had here welcomed me and I wish them all the best in the Semi-Final"

Saints boss Strachan said "He was congratulating everybody (Marsden) because he didn`t realise it was him who had scored the goal. I`m happy for Chris because it has taken him 18 years to score a goal in an FA Cup Quarter Final"

Wolves now must move on and concentrate on Wednesdays crucial match against Reading - and, who knows - Wolves still might be heading to Cardiff.

Wolvesfc.co.uk would like to wish Southampton Football Club the very best in the Semi-Final of the FA Cup.
