Wolves are down. There’s the shock news. Having had relegation confirmed on Monday night, Wolves host Spurs at Molineux in a match which will go a long way to determine who plummets to the championship along with us!! Who’d have thought Spurs would be in this mess, can they go down? I bet I’m not the only old codger on the Molineux Way who remembers Tottenham in the second division in 1977/78? One thing is true, a very high percentage of neutrals will be rooting for us today!  

I must admit I am looking forward to this match and I’m going. The last two Wolves matches have been very tough to watch, credit perhaps in the first half versus West Ham, but the rest has been pretty diabolical, the long absence of football during March and April seemingly badly affecting our ability. Nevertheless, the prospect of placing Spurs under considerable pressure is something worth anticipating, hopefully now that all the coffin nails are firmly in place, the Wolves players can turn in a performance that we can be pleased with. It just so happens we have an incredible recent record against our opposition, won four and drawn two in the last six, and have beaten them in the last three Molineux encounters. On top of that Spurs most recent league form reads W0 D2 L4, incredibly they have failed to win any league match in 2026. I suppose Wolves have a good track record of drawing such terrible runs to a shuddering end, all is not lost for Spurs! ….. and Edwards lost both of his games against them when in charge of Luton ….. and we are the worst side in the league but still on the hunt for Burnley with the chance to draw level on points!

Not sure who RE will turn to and pick for this game, after the well documented altercations between Tolu and Mane and so harmony is not what it should be, or is it passion as Edwards suggested? Jose Sa may make a return after positive signs in training, the Doc looks to be available, he’d certainly like to line up against his old team in some capacity. Krejci is doubtful. Whatever the side, having been relegated and nothing to play for, attending Wolves fans will still want to see Wolves ‘turn up’ and work hard and reverse the nightmares of West Ham and Leeds.

Roberto Di Zerbi has been parachuted into Spurs with the task to keep them up. He’s having a very tough start after the Brighton draw and losing to Sunderland. Can he turn it around, certainly he’ll be desperate for the win and Wolves need to be prepared for a side who despite misfiring as a team have some very good players. They have danger, are we up for it?

As mentioned, an early start for me plus a few others and off to Molineux via the usual watering holes. This fixture is a 3pm kick off as is West Ham who play at home v Everton. We’ll know a great deal more come 5pm. As I finish writing this piece, Forest are winning 4-0 at Sunderland. Another headache for Spurs?

As bad as Spurs are, they aren't as bad as us. I admire your positive spin each match day wondering if we can get the 3 points but with 3 wins in 33 talk about flogging a dead horse

Just admit it Angry, you think we’ll win too!! 🤣
When we travel up for a game, we often say it’s only the football which spoils an otherwise terrific day out!
As for tomorrow, I’m personally invested in the Spurs might be relegated angle. You never know

Well it might be fun to add to Spurs woes. It’s 7:30AM where I live now and I swore that I wouldn’t even bother to watch if Jackson Tch was on; quite why he’s even on the bench beats me.
Nevertheless it looks about OK for the “talent” we have.

0-1 spurs. They were clearly nervy but their team has quality players and after sterling work Doherty let a late one past him.
Mane had some neat touches but some giveaways too. All in all pretty much what we might expect. Glad Hammers also won.
Never expected Tolu and Tch to get one again, ever, but they got cameos with predictable non-results

Another 90 mintes of pure garbage.
2 very poor teams, spurs will go down with us for sure but im not sure that's good for us next season.
We have got Dreadful owners, Dreadful players and now another Dreadful manager.
Just when you think it can't get worse it does, you just knew our lot would help spurs out.
Gutless.

Two very poor sides.

First half was absolutely dire. Spurs had plenty of possession but did precisely zilch with it. We did precisely zilch full stop.

Second half, the quality remained poor but the circumstances led to a weirdly entertaining match. Sa pulled off a fantastic save, as did Kinsky right at the death. We were better second half, but ultimately lacking clear ideas how to fashion a chance score a goal. I believe we were hard done by with the defeat but at no point did we deserve to win. Personally I was gutted losing, in doing so failing to plant Spurs further in the mire.

Joao Gomes was my MOTD but no quality surrounding him. Tchatchoua come on for a completely unconvincing cameo. The whole team is lightweight. The table does not lie.

Mane clearly has talent though he loses possession and bumped off the ball very easily, he needs to work on his strength as he is too lightweight at the moment. He’s still young, plenty of time, though must keep his feet firmly on the ground to progress
