Quite a season for RAN!

It seems quite a while since the reverse fixture versus the Seagulls at the Amex. October 26th to be precise when a quite unbelievable and exhilarating last gasp comeback from Wolves with goals from Ait Nouri and Cunha providing the point that many (including myself) were hoping would reverse our fortunes. It didn’t, it got worse, but the match itself (the final 5 minutes to be truthful) was amazing and full of passion! Now, with three games left this season, we sit three places and 11 points below Brighton and Hove Albion, but the story of the season is that we are safe for 2025/26 and currently sit above two European finalists! Progress.  

Another good performance last weekend at the Etihad, however it ended our six match winning streak but by no means disgraced or disheartened, the difference being one moment of composure in front of goal ….. we certainly had our chances and shouldn’t have lost. Maybe we missed Strand Larsen?

As I write (Friday evening), Vitor looks like he has the same players to pick from plus Strand Larsen who has been in training this week, and so maybe Bellegarde will miss out? The core of the team is picking itself and look to extend the great team performance as we look up the table with Crystal Palace in our sights ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park next weekend …. hopefully they will have their eyes on an FA Cup final?! Brighton have had rather up and down form of late, winning only one of their last six matches, a 3-2 defeat of West Ham and plenty of incentive for the Wolves players to bring their confidence into this fixture, despite Wolves not having beaten Brighton in the league since 2021 and our opposition winning their last three league trips to Molineux. Bogey side? Time for change, with any luck, they have only kept one clean sheet in the last 11 games (all competitions).

Today’s photo is of RAN scoring the first of our two goals at Brighton this season. It is notable that he has been involved in more goals than any other premier league defender this season, scoring four and setting up seven and like so many of our players has turned the table on his own personal performances since the turn of the year. Good luck to him and maybe the reports of him being offered another Wolves contract could lead to more seasons in Old Gold?

Having travelled to Brighton last October, I will be driving up the M5 for this clash and thoroughly looking forward to a good competitive match, however it will mean I am unable to contribute to the thread … perhaps the Wolves Wi-Fi facilities will or aspire to be as good as the Amex one day, who knows, though in my absence please leave your comments and thoughts in the match thread.

With any luck I’ll be heading home craving to watch the highlights on match of the day rather than a stiff drink and straight to bed, I hope so, no reason why it can’t happen.

Watched the game in a salou bar yesterday with fellow wolfs.
Not really surprised with the result, we never ever seem to beat Brighton, they are certainly our Bogey team.
We had nothing more to play for and Brighton looked more up for the game needing the points more in their quest for European football.
Thank God we dont play them every week!
Off to the Beach now with the rest of the wolves team.😂

Very lacklustre. Brighton deserved the win. Surprised to see Guedes start bur sadly he didn't take his chance.

Lovely day, good couple of drinks in the Combermere, West Park looked fantastic in the sun …… shame about the result.

We had our chances, their keeper made a couple of very good saves, we had some great chances especially early with decent interplay but we fluffed it in front of goal (Guedes twice) . The overall performance however was lacking and over the 90 minutes I thought Brighton deserved the 3’points. Far more disappointing than last week v Man City and we were guilty of slowing the play down too much, sometimes due to lack of movement. Too many players were under par and as the second half progressed you could almost see the energy fizzling out of the Wolves players. I thought Andre was our best player but he looked knackered towards the end …. Not the only one!

Had a nice walk through West Park back to the car afterwards and almost got home in the light, very unusual!

Everton got above us in the table again, Man Utd and Spurs will have their chance very soon.
