Wolves fans have their first opportunity to greet the Premier League 2022-23 season today as Wolves welcome Fulham for the first home game of the season at Molineux
Following the disappointing loss at Leeds last Saturday, and the draw Fulham managed at home to Liverpool, Wolves will clearly need a good solid team performance to get a result today. Bruno Lage's desire to implement a back four - at the cost of Captain Connor Coady - will continue to be put to the test, especially with Alexander Mitrovic already in marauding form. The idea of the back four of course is to allow a higher number of attacking players and Wolves fans will surely be keen to see whether new recruit Gonçalo Guedes will start (surely in place of Hwang) and the impact he will have alongside Podence and Neto.
It seems Ruben Neves will continue to captain the team in the short term, whilst Bruno considers his options - including Max Kilman for the position. And there we were thinking it was a means of attrracting Neves to stay at Molineux!!
Today's game will kick off at 3pm and will not be screened by any TV station, so once again we will have to await Match of the Day for highlights. Our referee will be John Brooks and he will have Natalie Aspinall assisting him on the line for her Premier league debut, so good luck to her. Jarred Gillet will again be on VAR duty for the second successive week for our games
Good streams to watch the game are becoming hard to find, but this board will endeavour to do so and offer updates on the progress of the match. Board members are encouraged to contribute their own observations and join in the conversation
Fulham will be bouyed up by their result last week so will arrive at Molineux with their tails up. Squad size may also be a factor again particularly given the searing heat that is expected, not sure of the strength of the Fulham bench but I certainly hope that ours is better than it was last week or we could struggle in the latter parts of the match.
Squad quality should count in our favour so three points is the minimum expectation.
chicagowolf Got some big games coming up so it would be nice to get a result here. Gonzales, Traore, Semedo look like playing, so quite a changed line up.
Cancel that. All three on the bench so starting looks same as last week vs Leeds.
But after a shaky start with Wolves Nelson became one of our better players, so good to see him back. And Adame? Well, what do you say?
I think Cheshires comment epitomises the state of modern football which is why I'm out walking in the sun not even bothering to watch it or attempting to. Time for a massive overhaul in football to match other spectator sports
Entertaining first half with Wolves getting the better chances Hwang and Neto both had great chances and the team is playing well together. Same old story though. How long before we get some changes?
Not convincing so far when you consider its Fulham we are playing, no offence.
Fulham could consider themselves not to be a goal up, thank you Neves.
I suppose we just about edged the first half but no real goal scoring chances or at least not sharp enough from our forwards. Quite good game management however lack of final product may serve to haunt us.
Cmon lads we need three points.
Into the 10th minute of added time then the final whistle goes at the end of Wolves 9th game without a win. Key moment was Jose Sa saving a penalty from Motrovic given away by Rayan Ait Nouri.
Good for Semedo, Guedos and Traore to get some game time as Wolves get their first point on the board in tough conditions.
Wolves 0 Fulham 0

Theres no real point in big spending from fosun now, 5 points thrown away and by the time any signings bed in, we will be so far behind the top 6 any hope of Europa football will be gone needing a telescope to see them in the table . That said it was never really on the cards, the remit for bruno will be simply to keep us in the division. Today was likely to be a 6 pointer, no owner with any ambition would have gone into a new season with this pathetic lack of depth..what's the point in a pre season?
How the hell do you lads get a stream? I've tried about 25. I've even tried Wolves tv and got no luck. I haven't seen a ball kicked this afternoon. I wish I'd stayed in the pub. On the positive side, it's one more point than we had at this time last season.
I couldn’t find a stream anywhere Andy. I have invested in a Firestick to try and get the games but only saw the first 3.5 minutes before that went off. Apparently they try to block them at the beginning of the season too!!
Fortunate result, we never really looked like getting all three points. RAN,for all his skill on the front foot looks very uncomfortable playing in a back four when under pressure, that's two poor games from him. Great save from Sa thankfully.
Trying to evaluate this current team and style of play reminds me of the Morecambe and Wise piano sketch, all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order.
Bruno needs to find what works, and quickly or on the evidence of the latter part of last season and these last two results, it could be a long and difficult season.
Far more challenging opposition looming on the horizon and we have given away five points already.
Oh dear what the hell was that? Awful game and awful performance. I know it was hot but where was the passion. 1 shot on target all game against a newly promoted team, I'm sorry but that's just not good enough. On top of that fulam could of stole all 3 points if they had put that penalty away. We are desperate in front of goal. Wolves have to bring a striker in next week this can't go on. I know it's only the 2nd game of the season but this goes back to the last 12 or 13 games of last season. This is a results business and if they don't come and we see better performances it's going to end one way, bruno getting the bullet, that wasn't entertainment today.

Bruno waxing lyrical re mgw post match saying he could be one of the top 2- 3 players in the country.. nothing like a bit of emperors new clothes kidology. A player who was poor most of his career at wolves hence we loan him out, scores a handful of goals in the second tier and he is now worth over 30 million as an elite player ..lol. Bruno thinks we have one of the top 3 generational talents in the country, I see nothing but a championship standard sh1tehawk.

Re Bruno comments on MGW, perhaps he is bigging him up in an effort to squeeze a few extra millions out of the poor chairman who is fool enough to sanction that level of expense on him.
