Sako Makes It 3-1

Northampton Town head to Molineux on Tuesday night to take on Wolves in the First Round Of The Capital One Cup. It will be the third time in four seasons the two sides have faced each other in this competition and will only be the tenth time time the two sides have met in all competitions despite both clubs being over a 100 years old.

The first meeting between the two sides was at the County Ground in 1966. Over 16,000 fans saw Wolves record a 4-0 win in a league Two game to move into second place in the table. Northampton recorded their First of only two wins over Wolves twenty seasons later at the same ground with a 2-1 scoreline. 

Wolves equalled their biggest ever victory over Northampton at the Sixfields Stadium in the second round of the League Cup. Ebanks-Blake scored twice with Milijas and Vokes netting the other two.
