Wolves and Colchester have met only 11 times with the first meeting taking place during Wolves first season in the fourth tier of English football. It was played on Friday 31st October 1986 at Layer Road in front of just 4,741 fans and it was the home side who came away with a 3-0 victory.

Wolves won the return match 2-0 and repeated that scoreline a few months later in the first leg of the play-off at Layer Road. The second leg ended 0-0 and Wolves took the honours during the next three meetings. Wolves recorded their biggest win over Colchester earlier this season by 3-0 with Griffo (2) and Doyle getting the goals.

Cochester have visited Molineux five times and have yet to score losing four times. The last meeting at the golden palace was on the 28th November 2007. 20,966 saw Stephen Elliott grab the only goal of the game that day.

I genuinely cor see anything other than a win for Wolves tonight. 2-0. Interesting that our first match v them was only as recent as 1986, then again that seem to happen a lot then!
