Chelsea FC have confirmed that they will be recalling 19 year old defender, Patrick Van Aanholt once his 1 month loan deal with Newcastle United expires at the end of this month. Aanholt who stepped straight into the Newcastle first team, hasn't faltered since his arrival and was also awarded a place in the Football League Coca Cola Championship team of the week ...will be expected to return as quickly as possible once Newcastle have played their last match of the month against Watford.
Chelsea have been rocked by the news that defender Ashley Cole will be sidelined for at least 3 months with a cracked ankle
Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton said earlier today;
"You have take into consideration what he is - he's a 19-year-old player, and this is his first season (of first-team football). He's played quite a few games at Coventry earlier in the season, and he's still a young, developing player.
When you take that into consideration, he hasn't let us down. I think there's no doubt (Jose) Enrique's having such a good season, that you're going to miss him. He's very powerful, and has a big influence on a game.
Patrick is a young man still very much learning the game, but he's come in and he's been able to hold his own at such a high level."

I think Chelsea fear the might of the Castle coming back up straightaway and are trying to throw a wrench into the proceedings!
