Poll: Which of our new signings will have the most impact?

its looking like routledge on tonights showing. perhaps just by giving the defence two wide players to worry about he's making space for himself and jonas?
long may that continue, eh?

I've got to agree with that. Routledge has pace and skill and along with Jonas will give us an extra attacking threat which we didn't have earlier in the season. The others are mainly back up players should everyone be fit while Simpson isn't going to win too many matches for us in my opinion so I'm going with Routledge. I must admit I've been impressed by Williamson but just don't see him maintaining his position should Taylor and Coloccini be fit.

Routledge for me but to be fair, they all may turn out to be key-depth is an absolute necessity, not a luxury.

Routledge is the obvious choice and has been class for us so far. If our Taylor/Colo had stayed fir then he would get my vote definately.

But I dont think the impact that Williamson has given can be underestimated. One goal in three games and has really played well.

Cant choice between them.

Routledge provides three things to the team that we desperately needed:

1) Pace and skill on the right side to take pressure off Danny Simpson. There's no question Enrique has been phenomenal this term, but a large part of that is due to Jonas's ability to push the opposing Right flank into their third. Guthrie doesn't do that on the opposite side, and it left Danny Simpson and Ryan Taylor vulnerable.


2) He can play a low crossing ball. Guthrie's crosses have been great this year, but we needed someone who could play an incisive through ball from the wide position.

3) It allows us to have a box-to-box center midfielder. Smith has been stellar as a holding midfielder. Nolan bagged goals for us when we needed them. However, neither one has the pace to play box-to-box. Bringing Routledge in allowed Guthrie to play in the center, where he belongs. He has the passing ability to put the wingers into space, the shooting ability to threaten the keeper from the top of the box, and the tenacity to make tackles in the middle of the pitch.


Williamson has been a solid signing, and to be fair I was extremely skeptical of him. But Routledge does more for this team by being on the pitch than Williamson does.

Evrything that Waffles has said and with Routledge in the team we have the possibility of stretching the other teams, with Guthrie out wide he will always try to com back in the middle of the park where Routledge will try to get wide, given us the chance of passing the other teams of the park

ok, it certainly worked well against a team inclined to attack us, we'll see on tuesday how we do up against a more defensive outfit. no reason to doubt our new formation, if its used, but the challenge will be a different one

Routledge is my pick too. Though I've been happy with all signings.

I'm probably asking a dumb quetion here but why is Fitz Hall not on the list?
Isn't he a new signing?
