Newcastle United defender Habib Beye is just hours away from a move to Hull City after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £3.5million. Phil Brown has had his eye on the 31 year old since Newcastle were relegated at the end of last season and the Hull City chairman Paul Duffen confirmed earlier today that the club will now be negotiating the terms of the move with Beye.
Duffen said;
"Habib Beye is a player we believe can add quality to the Hull squad. We are hoping to engage in conversation with him in the next couple of days."
Newcastle are also said to be in the process of negotiating a move for Sebastien Bassong to Tottenham Hotspur after rejecting an offer early last week.
