After a disappointing last ten minutes against West Brom in midweek, in which Blackpool surrendered a lead and lost 1-3, the game at Cardiff this weekend becomes all the more important. The Seasiders travel to Ninian Park, knowing that a win would give them a fantastic chance of staying in the Championship, and the game against Sheffield Wednesday’s importance would be greatly diluted.

 Cardiff will be hoping to translate their FA Cup form into league form, as the cup finalists still have an outside chance of reaching the playoffs.

Blackpool may well be unchanged after the disappointing finish in midweek, as despite the defeat, they played well, and the two who played in the middle of the park acquitted themselves well against quality opposition. This means that Keith Southern and Paul Dickov may have to settle for their bench warming position again, despite coming on in midweek. Boss Simon Grayson has also changed his tune on the substitute keepers, knowing he would be a fool to be caught without a sub keeper at this stage of the season.

Cardiff supporters will be hoping that their players will have come down to earth after their Wembley exploits last weekend, and the side that battled out a spirited draw in midweek may well be the same as the one which lines up against Blackpool tomorrow. Peter Enckelman, on loan from Blackburn Rovers, is likely to carry on in goal, after Kaspar Schmeichel’s loan from Manchester City expired. However, cup hero and local boy Joe Ledley is an injury doubt.
