With a heavy heart, after over 7 years as moderator, I have decided to hang up my boots and step down from running the Molineux Way at the end of this season. My final match intro will be our last match of the season versus Burnley on Sunday 24th May 2026. I think it will be emotional day for me.  

The decision has been far from easy, and I must stress it is not because Wolves are going down!! I’m not that fickle, at least I think not! The reasons are varied, lifestyle changes, lifestyle challenges (good and bad), health issues, in fact the kind of things which impact on us all. Despite this, I can assure you, it’s been a hard conclusion to come to.

I have really enjoyed managing the site, truly a labour of love, and I have always appreciated the effort, comments, opinions and the general love and passion for Wolves from everyone who reads and posts on here, it really has made it all worthwhile. I want to thank you all for your superb involvement, without which this site would be nothing. Whilst activity has fallen over the years, I want to say loudly and clearly that we have developed into a fantastic core group. As somebody once said on here, it’s quality not quantity … I concur 100%!!

I first posted on The Molineux Way in 2005 after meeting one of the then moderators in a Southampton pub prior to a drab 0-0 draw. After that I was hooked. Time flies and looking back, in 2005 I was 37, Wolves had just started another futile championship campaign with Hoddle in charge (terrible football and we finished 7^th) and I was a season ticket holder. I’m now 58, lost my hair and whilst still a Wolves member, I gave up my season ticket 14 years ago! My moderating days started in 2019 having been recruited by Steve, aka Cheshire Wolf, who ran and organised this website fantastically and who became a close friend of mine. I am content that I have been able to keep the Molineux Way show on the road for the 2 years since he died.

Footballing wise, since 2005, what a period in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers! We have experienced incredible ups and downs, though the highlight for me has to be the mighty reign and superb team of Dr Nuno. Has anything better happened to Wolves and us fans in the last 45-50 years? Of course, the roller coaster of being a Wolves fan continues, the deep dip we are currently in will take a fair bit of reorganising though as football is cyclical, there will surely be better times ahead. We all hope so.

As you can see from the photo, I started life as 'Wombourn Wolf', the above taken in 1973. Wolves have always been the constant for me in good and bad times, and whatever your relationship with our beloved Wolves is / was / will be, good luck to you all, I wish you the very best!! Thank you all for your support, contribution, insight and enthusiasm for Wolves and The Molineux Way.

Sorry to see you depart Ivy but it's looking like the end of the road sadly for the old site. The main issue isn't the posters, it's the product and speaking for me personally the club and sport just doesn't interest me any more. As you say we all have our personal battles and getting excited over men kicking a bag of wind around seems increasingly silly as I had towards 50 ( 47 now). The Wolves result used to dominate my weekend and started posting on here in 2007 ( when I was 29), now I don't really care. The whole of next season will be spent trying to return to this league so unsure what the point is. I think my first ever post on here was being trolled by Salty dog and OSB when this place was truly alive. I dispute the pred league inferences of lack of success on the other thread as you have been on here to remember my multiple victories but if this is the last season, good to go out with a bang as champion ONCE AGAIN. Thanks Ivy for keeping it going after the sad departure of Chesire a couple of years ago. I too started in Wombourne and unlike you young whippersnappers am 76 years old, but share a love of Wolves that goes back to Stan Cullis and the early sixties when dad took me to the floodlit magic of the Mol (my last trip was my three grownup kids taking me to watch Chelsea evict us from the League Cup earlier this turbulent season).
I know it’s the right time but it will be with a little poignancy and sadness that we say farewell.
Thanks again to you , Angry, Lupy, Essington and all the other reprobates who have kept the Molineux Way going, long past its sell-by date.

I am also sorry to hear you are giving up the running of the site Ivy. Thank you for your efforts which have been fantastic over the years, as were Cheshire's before. Please accept my very best wishes and, although we will still be hearing from you until the end of the season, take care.

Thanks for all you're hard work keeping the site going ivy.
Enjoyed all the posts on here over the years, I will miss Angry wolfs wonderful posts after yet another wolves loss that somehow put a smile back on my face after another woeful wolves display.😂
Shame the posters have dwindled away over the years but that's life I suppose. ( Haven't seen wolverina post on here for a long time hope they are good).
Anyway its been a Blast, if this is the end all the best guys and dont give up on wolves, we will be back, ive been supporting this club for 55 years now, im now 60 by the way so im used to the ups and downs.

Thanks Ivy for all your hard work and perseverance running this site; your wise words will be missed. Very best wishes for the future.
I'm 82 this year and been following the team for 74 years. As for Wolves, "out of darkness cometh light". I hope the rebuilding goes well and look forward to reading the comments from the regular posters next season whilst we are temporarily in the Championship.
