Dean Sturridge looks certain to miss the opening game of the season against Bradford City next Sunday. This comes as a blow to Wolves however it could turn into a blessing in disguise. Sturridge was left nursing 8 stitchies in his leg after a nasty looking challenge with Newcastles young star Titus Bramble.

The Newcastle friendly proved to be a good work out for Wolves however the challenge from Titus Bramble took the shine off the brave performance from the lads in Gold And Black.

The challenge leaving last seasons Top` goalscorer with a 4 inch gash going as deep as the bone needing 8 stitchies and 10 days on the sideline.

Wolves boss Dave Jones has ruled the striker out of the opening game of the season against Bradford City which will be screened live on Sky Sports.

Dave Jones told teamtalk "The gash went down to the bone," Jones went on to add "We certainly don't think he has broken anything - he was well checked by the club doctor before he went off in the ambulance.
"But it takes ten days to recover from a badly stitched wound and that means Dean has to be a big doubt for our season opener at Bradford City next weekend.
"Having said that, we still have another week to keep a close eye on the situation - all we can do is keep our fingers crossed."


This news however could give Kenny Miller the chance he needs.

Wolves signed Miller for 3M from Rangers after a loan spell but Miller broke his collerbone needing months on the touchline resulting in a lack of match fitness and form.

Kenny went on record to say how he was dissapointed not to be playing and how he was unhappy to warm the bench up. - Well Kenny, this is your chance!!
