Hoddle Has The Green Light To Buy

Jez Moxey has today confirmed there is money in the kitty for Glenn Hoddle to strengthen his side come the January transfer window. And the Wolves manager has given his clearest indication yet that his future lies in Wolverhampton, not on the south coast.

Talking on The Official Website Moxey said

"We have got some money. Not a lot, but enough for one or two players to strengthen the team for the second half of the season."

Answering speculation that The Board have shortchanged Hoddle since his arrival he added

"Glenn is restricted by a budget that was set at the start of the season and that hasn't changed, so he will have to be shrewd, which we think he is."

There have been fears that any new signings would have to be at the expense of a current player, but Moxey reassured the fans saying

"He doesnt have to sell to buy and if anyone did go, for whatever reason, then that money would be available to re invest."

"We are not afraid to spend money, but we want value for that money, however much that is."

For his part Glenn Hoddle has dropped heavy hints regarding the type of player he is eyeing. Talking to Wolves World he said

"I've got to find someone who can score goals....Thers not a lot wrong with our game but the most important part, the hardest part, is not there."

"Its the final part of the jigsaw, and whether that is one player, or a couple, then I have to decide. I need to choose whether to put all the money available into one basket and hope the injured lads can come back and make an impact. Or go for more than one new face,"

The news that Hoddle still has both eyes on the future with Wolves will come as a welcome reassurance to Wolves fans, fearing events on the south coast could have repercussions in the heart of The Black Country
