Southampton visit Molineux today in the return tie of the Day One fixture. On that August afternoon Glenn Hoddle's former club held his current empoyer to a 0-0 draw, and the Wolves travelling fans were introduced to a young man by the name of Theo Walcott

Both sides started as pre season promotion favourites, and by that mark, both are currently underachieving. But whilst Southampton have now won only 2 of their last 15 games, Wolves have taken 7 points from their last 9.

Add to that 3 clean sheets and Wolves seem to be the form team, but a glance at the league shows there is little between the two sides.

Southampton will be without all but one of their central midfielders with Dennis Wise, David Prutton and Nigel Quashie all out. Harry Redknapp's men will also be without Marian Pahars, Claus Lundekvam and Martin Cranie.

Wolves injury list remains a constant headache for Glenn Hoddle with Paul Ince ,Jackie McNamara, , Mark Davies and Rohan Ricketts all still in the treatment room. But it is teh absence of strike pair Carl Cort and Kenny Miller that continues to haunt Wolves fans.

The stakes will be high as three points could see Wolves climb back into the play off slots.Whereas a win for The Saints would see them draw level with the blackcountry men on 29 points.But Wolves fans will see anything less than a victory as a poor result against a team that recently surrendered a 3-0 lead in the last 20 minutes against Leeds.
