CERTAIN RELEGATION For Wolves this season. That's what they all say, so please please, just keep writing us off.

Blue Square have us at 1/4 to be relegated whilst you can get odd's of 11/4 with the same bookmaker to stay up.

The consensus all season is that Wolves will face relegation this season. We were doomed before we kicked a ball and, with just eleven games remaining, very few give us a chance of overturning a stat which is now a massive eleven seasons old; every club which is bottom on Christmas Day goes down.

However Wolves can learn from something which they suffered from a couple of seasons ago.

Wolves were miles ahead in the First Division and heading for the Championship and/or certain promotion to the Premier League via one of the top two automatic promotion places a couple of seasons ago. However, game by game Wolves failed to pick up points. Meanwhile, West Brom started to pick up points and gradually and quietly, West Brom closed the gap and clinched 2nd place ahead of Wolves, who then lost out to Norwich in the Play-Off's.

This season is so far similar, but in reverse. Wolves have had that huge gap to close all season and, with just eleven games to go, Wolves are on the same points (24) as Portsmouth, but our poor goal difference means that Portsmouth are currently out the drop zone, but that could all change.

We have quietly climbed the table, so keep writing Wolves off, but be aware, we may just complete the same amazing feat that Albion did just a few years ago.
