THE insurers of Wolverhampton Wanderers have been forced to pay out £250,000 to former Charlton Man Matt Holmes who suffered a broken leg in a FA Cup Fourth Round Replay after a tackle by Kevin Muscat, now playing for Milwall.

Holmes struggled to fully recover from the injury and started legal proceedings against Kevin Muscat and his current employees at the time Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Liability for the challenge was strongly denied by Wolves and Kevin Muscat, however Holmes' solicitors recently served a schedule valuing the claim at around £2.5M

 In a statement released on the Official Website Wolverhampton Wanderers say "Holmes' solicitors recently served a schedule valuing the claim at around £2.5 Million. However, at the eleventh hour, late this afternoon (Friday 20th), and before a trial due to commence this coming Monday, 23rd February, Matt Homes accepted an offer of £250,000 which was made without any admission of liability on the part of Wolves or Kevin Muscat."
