Wolves entered their second away game in a week with the confidence of the 4-2 win over Ipswich still fresh in the minds of the Wolves players and faithful fans.

Dave Jones`s only doubt was whether Paul Butler would make the match - he did - so Wolves kept the same side which disposed of Ipswich at Portman Road last week.

Wolves made their intentions clear, after being upset by "little teams" time and time again it was important that the banana skin wasn`t going to trip Wolves up, and with the first half performance, Wolves were looking very comfortable.

Prestons George Koumantarakis came close as early as the fourth minute but his header was only just over the bar..

Preston started the brighter of the two sides, playing nice football and troubling the Wolves defense of Irwin, Naylor, Butler and Lescott and on two more occasions George Koumantarakis came close to handing Preston a lead.

Wolves also came close, Colin Cameron was inches off giving the Wolves the lead before being replaced with Keith Andrews shortly before half-time after sustaining an injury.

Like at Ipswich in the week, the Wolves came out all guns blazing in the second half, and were ahead after only 8 minutes.

The energetic George Ndah picked the ball up on the edge of his own Penalty Area. He spun off two defenders on his route to goal before striking the ball from the edge of the area past the Preston keeper into the back of the net.

Wolves were now in full control and could have gone ahead, Kenny Miller making himself chances only for good defending to stop him claiming his 9th goal from 7 games..

But, on 83 Minutes Miller did score, equaling a post-war time record of scoring in 7 consecutive games.

Irwins lovely ball through to the byline was met by Adam Proudlock who drilled the ball across the edge of the 6yrd box and there was Kenny Miller to tyap home from close range.
