Dave
Jones stuck with the same side that beat Newcastle in the Previous
round. Both Lee Naylor and George Ndah completed their late fitness
tests and were put into the starting line up. Leicester`s Jamie
Scowcroft made a surprise start for the Foxes only ten days after an
operation on his stomach.
Wolves
made their intentions clear early on, dominating the first few
minutes, and, like the last round, Wolves scored an early goal. Lee
Naylors throw was picked up on the left by George Ndah who cut
inside and ran towards the Leicester defence which kindly opened up
allowing George Ndah to stroke the ball home from 9yrds.
A
Minute later Geoge Ndah was back in the action, his through ball
only inches away from the advancing Kenny Miller. Ndah then made the
miss of the game, rounding Walker in the Leicester goal, but the ex-Swindon
hitman only managed to see his shot hit the side-netting..
On
28 minutes Leicester drew level. Paul Dickov, again, as he did in
the League at Leicester "fell over" in the area, and again
the Ref` blew his whistle and pointed to the spot. Dickov who won
the penalty then stroked the ball to the left of Murray to tie the
game..
On
45 Minutes however Wolves took the lead for the second time. Irwins
Free-Kick from the right was met with a lovely timed header by
George Ndah who headed the ball past Walker into the back of the
net.
Half
Time – Wolves 2-1 Leicester
It
was important that Wolves were tight at the back in the second half,
and that they were. Infact, 6 minutes into the second half Wolves
put the game beyond reach for Leicester. George Ndah again played a
major role in the game as Kenny Miller found his through-ball,
rounded Walker and slotted the ball into the back of the net. 51
Minutes played, Wolves 3 Leicester 1.
George
Ndah was then replaces to a standing ovation from the home side by
Adam Proudlock.
On
66 Minutes the game was put beyond all doubt. Kenny Miller muscled
off the Leicester, Walker blocked his first effort but his second
went under the body of Walker to complete the demolition...
Adam
Proudlock missed a few good chances late on, but the tasked asked of
Wolves was done.
