Cesc Calls Team Meeting to Plan Response to Barcelona

By Monty Hill Wood
December 19 2010

During the 1970 - 71 double season the team took to having summit meetings to criticise each other and to plan their strategy against major opponents. The meetings were chaired by Frank McLintock, no holds were barred as they plotted their comeback against any advesrity. On hearing that Arsenal were to face the mighty Catalans, Cesc decided to resurrect the tradition. Arsenal Times was lucky to have a friend of the man who polishes the players boots report the full transcript of what happened.

The meeting is called to order by Comrade Cesc Fabregas

 Eboue: Capitan, Capitan

Cesc:  It’s not Capitan but Comrade Cesc

Eboue: But you are Captain sometimes

Cesc: Take the earphones out Eboue, and concentrate we have the CL draw to discuss, as you know we have Barcelona in the next round.

Shrieks of fear, jeering and booing

Cesc: Calm down, we fear nobody at home, we can beat anyone at home

Arshavin: Well Captain apart......

Cesc: Comrade not Captain

Jack: Sorry I am late

Cesc: Yes I have been meaning to talk to you about some of those tackles, but not now

Arshavin: Sorry Comrade Cesc, apart from WBA

Cesc: Well apart from West Brom we can beat anyone at home

Fabianski: Well there was Newcastle

Cesc: Well apart from West Brom and Newcastle we  can beat anyone at home

Clichy: We did mess.....

Cesc: Don’t you mean you messed up

Clichy: That’s not fair, you are not blaming me for all three goals?

Cesc: That’s enough besides apart from West Brom, Newcastle and Spurs we can beat anyone at home.

Arshavin: But we didn’t beat Barcelona last year

Cesc: We didn’t lose to them at home, we drew

Arshavin: But we didn’t beat them either

Cesc: Ok ok, apart from West Brom, Newcastle, Spurs and Barcelona, we can beat anyone at home.

Rosicky: We haven’t beat Man U or Chelsea at home for quite a few games either

Cesc: Ok ok, apart from West Brom, Newcastle, Spurs,  Barcelona,  Man U and Chelsea we can beat anyone at home.

Arsene Wenger pops his head around the door.

Arsene: Good news about the CL Draw eh lads

Groans

Arsene: This strengthens my plan to win a trophy this year

Laughter

Arsene: No I am serious, we have no chance in CL, so I will rest team for CL games, and concentrate on the Carling Cup, then if we win that fans will be so busy celebrating the first silverware in 6 years they will forget about the cup with big ears. Besides we can beat anyone at home

Team: Well apart from West Brom, Newcastle, Spurs, Barcelona,  Man U and Chelsea we can beat anyone at home!

Since the end of WW1, 1919, when the FA restarted its 4 tier football league, with Arsenal fc in the 1st div, there’s only ever been one club to have never been relegated from Div 1/ EPL.

Arsenal fc

Let’s keep making history
