A place for fans of both Rovers and Oxford United to discuss Saturday afternoon's upcoming match at Prenton Park as Rovers look to bounce back from successive 1-0 away defeats at Southend United and Mansfield Town..

With the 2014/15 League Two season now into it's final three matches, our match discussion thread returns as Rovers prepare to host Oxford United at Prenton Park.  Tranmere are of course going into the game on the back of two successive 1-0 away defeats to Southend United last Saturday and to Mansfield Town in midweek and will be looking to bounce back immediately in what is now a must-win game.

Whether you are unable to make the game for any reason, or even if you are attending, this is the place to discuss all the pre-match build up including team line-up and score predictions, events during the match itself and all the post match fall-out and analysis.   The thread is open to fans of both sides to discuss the events surrounding the game so if you haven't got a Message Forum accounts yet then why not sign up now?

Think we are finally into "A must win game" situation despite it being stated falsely many times over the last few months.

2-1 win for me or any win or we will probably be as good as down

This will be a harder game than Mansfield!!!!
I don't we will dominate as much. However a sneaking feeling to win is creeping into my reaction to the upcoming fixture. I need a win to close on the leader of the prediction league, to retain my title.
Think this our last chance of getting three points this season.

Maybe Oxford Universities debating society, at least I think they have one, could debate the relative merits of both teams and suggest reasoned arguments for how both could either win or fail.

They could also do this after the game, debating many key points of the result, then someone at Tranmere could download a copy of the transcript, for a few pennies off an app store and save a fortune by having a cheaper alternative to Pro Zone.

Think that the boys are going to click. Going for a 3-1 home win. Too scared to be negative.

If the pitch has a light roller on it on Friday afternoon we will win 3-0.Our fast and tricky players ie. Green,Myrie-williams and Donnelly will cause havoc. If we Water the pitch before the game we will be slipping and sliding as usual and we will lose again.I hope I don't have to use the words "I told you so" after the game.

Score draw...2-2...with losses for Cheltenham, Hartlepool and Carlisle keeping it anyone's guess for relegation.

A defeat, a draw and then a win against Oxford (in that order) so far this season so it could go any way!

I think a 1-1 draw which would be no help at all!

I'm sure we have...at least 18 times this season. The problem for most of this season is that the opposition have scored more goals than us in most of those games. Simple maths really. Puts us where we are today unfortunately. Plus we haven't scored in a while, so we're due a goal...using the old bus analogy...you wait ages for one, then two come along at once.

At the very least, we need to match the scores of Cheltenham and Hartlepool. That gives us a hope. Winning and them both losing gives us a chance

On the basis Oxford have three sent off firstly the Keeper next the replacement Keeper followed by their C/B leaving them three short ,some else goes between the sticks leaving them with seven outfield players we then storm their goal and win the game via an own goal, have you seen our forward line.thumbs down

MESSAGES->author

Then their C/B? You have inside knowledge to know they'll only use 1 CB (Sm7)

Personally I don't care how many defenders they pick as long as they lose, though if the want to use a system of 10-0 in front of the goalkeeper then good.

I'm now waiting for someone to say it wouldn't make any difference if they didn't use any defenders, as Tranmere still wouldn't score unless they fluked or the ref sucked (Sm6).

I'm torn, either a 2-0 win leaving us frustrated that we could have played like this sooner, or a dire 0-1 loss and crys for Goodie to take charge or play the last 2......

Either way, the luck we are having all the other results will go against us regardless

With thr worst home record in the league over a two year period, there is precious little reason to predict a home win. It seems that no matter how bad a run others teams are on when they come to PP the run ends. A fairly convincing sign that we are truly poor.

That said, there is every grounds to hope for 3 wins as blind hope is all that remains

I am afraid I left a game before the end for the first time in 48 years. I just couldn't take anymore.

That's 12 points out of a possible 54 points and the conference is virtually a certainty. Both Hartlepool and Cheltenham lost today and we blew it big style once again.

In answer to another post, despite my previous statement, I wouldn't keep any of them.

A reasonable result at half time that went badly wrong.

The other two rival teams lost, so Tranmere are still in it, but any more of that kid of thing and they will seal their own death warrant.

There's only so many times you can nause it up, before fate catches you out.

REQUIEM [Midge Ure and Slik-pre Ultravox]

I still have my souvenirs of special places
And I'll remember them.
But our game is over and we've played our aces

This is a wreck. Oh what a wreck. This a Requiem.

A - - - men.

It's over
and there's nothing to say now

Over
the magic is finally gone.
It's over
there's no other way now

Over
it just can't go on and on.

Now the time has really come to give up trying
. . . Requiem

And to finish with the cheating and the Iying

It's doomed
it's damned
it's dying

This is a Requiem
Requiem
Requiem.

This is in memory of a million chances . . .

I think the run that their guy[the number 29] made virtually the full length of the pitch before shooting narrowly wide from 25 yards. He made up for it later by scoring the first and third goals.

And the fact that the pitch seemed bouncy when our players tried to control the ball but not when they did.
