"I'm a competent manager, I give fans information and don't withhold anything” said Alan Pardew to Sky Sports. He was speaking at the back end of what has been a topsy-turvy week at St James’s Park which saw the popular and respected Chris Hughton sacked on Monday and Alan Pardew appointed on Thursday.
Alan says he is mindful of the displeasure the players and fans expressed over Hughtons departure and the work he must put in to win everyone connected to NUFC over but insists he is up to the job.
“I'm privileged to be sitting here and looking forward to a tough job” he said.
He claims he will be knocking on Ashley’s door trying to get the maximum funds for transfers and on the subject of his five and a half year contract he said aims to bring some longevity to the managers job which has seen an almost revolving door policy in recent years.
He was also quoted "We're in a great position for a team that's just been promoted but we've got to kick on."
Whether we as fans like him, love him or hate him he is here to stay.
