Carroll Wants Premiership Football With Newcastle

Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll wants to stay at Newcastle United, help them be promoted and then play in the Premiership, not up sticks and opt to move in January for Premier League football, so a source has been quoted in today's local press;

His recent off-pitch endeavours have seen the spotlight cast upon him as he was arrested for an alleged assault and the following game he was dropped; but he featured heavily and set up both goals in last weekends draw against Barnsley.

A club ‘source' was quoted by the Gazette saying;

"Andy has spoken to Chris Hughton, and knows that the future is in his own hands.
He's settled at Newcastle United and doesn't want to leave.

No disrespect to the clubs that have been linked with Andy, but the hope is that Newcastle will be back playing in the Premier League next season.

And being a Geordie, it shouldn't be difficult for people to see why he wants to be a part of that so much."

After the weekend draw, Hughton said of the 20 year old;

"He's a wholehearted player, a player of quality and very good in the air.

He is a lad who's still developing his game and I'm sure we'll see him improving even more so."

There was always going to be a positive story about him after the bad publicity, but I do believe he wants to stay, he is a local lad and if you have the chance of playing for your local club then you are going to take it.

If he did move in Jan, where would he go, a team struggling in the premiership who could be playing in the fizzy pop league next year
